In doubles, Exeter won all three but showed there was plenty of room for improvement.  McNaughton and Russ showed solid communication and comfort with each other in light of playing their first match with each other.  Exeter will travel to Central on Monday.

Match Summary:

Exeter boys’ tennis improved to 12-1 on the season with an important road victory at Londonderry, the defending State Champions.  Londonderry was without their #1 player Harrison Max due to an injury, but still proved to be a great opponent.  The first four singles matches were hotly contested.  Great points were made on both sides.  At #4 singles, Chip McNaughton trailed 1-6.  For a player who has never lost, Chip found himself in a position he was not use to.  But to the credit of his character and resolve, Chip did not panic.  Chip became more patience in his play.  Chip was able to pull off an unbelievable comeback to win 9-7.  At #3 singles, Chris Lietz led 7-2 before dropping five consecutive games.  However, Chris was able to pull out the victory in a tiebreaker 9-7.  At #2 singles, Ryan lost a nail-biter 8-6 as no player ever went up by more than one game in the match.  At #5 and #6, Ty Cloyd and Tyler Russ demonstrated the depth of the team by winning easily in both matches.  Corey and Ryan won the clinching fifth point 8-6 at #1 doubles.  Ryan Posternak served his best match of the year allowing for Corey to finish off some easy net points.
